Rector NUST meets Pakistan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan at Tashkent

During his visit to Uzbekistan, Rector, Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif, along with a NUST delegation, called on H.E. Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, Ambassador of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, at the Embassy of Pakistan in Tashkent.
The meeting focused on strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan academic, research and innovation linkages with discussions on broadening NUST’s engagement with leading universities in Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand through faculty and student exchanges and dual-degree programs.
The establishment of NUST Chair at the University of Geological Sciences (UGS) also came under discussion with the initiative being highlighted as an important step in strengthening academic linkages between NUST and institutions in Uzbekistan.
Discussions also covered opportunities for stronger industry-academia linkages between NUST and Uzbek industries, drawing on NUST’s experience of working closely with industry and supporting technology-driven enterprise. Potential avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange in this area were also explored.
H.E. The Ambassador appreciated NUST’s vision for expanding academic and industry collaboration and assured his full support in advancing these initiatives and further strengthening Pakistan-Uzbekistan educational, research and innovation ties.
