In a thought-provoking address to students, Rector NUST Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif urged students to reflect deeply on how they could contribute meaningfully to the progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Emphasising the role of youth in shaping a resilient and forward-looking society, the Rector reiterated that the country is currently engaged in the 5th Generation Warfare (5GW) – a complex form of conflict where societies, rather than just militaries, are the primary battlegrounds. He called on students to remain vigilant, informed, and united in safeguarding national integrity.
Sharing his vision for NUST, the Rector expressed his commitment to elevating NUST into the top 100 universities globally. He also highlighted the university plans to develop a green and sustainable campus, aligning with global environmental goals and best practices. The Rector also announced the launch of a One-Window Operation to enhance student experience, and establishment of Jinnah School of Public Policy & Leadership (JSPPL) to cultivate future leaders poised to shape effective and evidence-based policies for national development.
