Chaired by Chairman HEC, Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar, the meeting deliberated on key higher education reforms including Dual, Double and Joint Degree Programmes, academic quality, digital transformation and broader sectoral priorities.

Rector also emphasized the importance of strengthening general education within HEIs’ academic ecosystems, not merely to produce graduates with technical competence but to develop socially responsible, ethically grounded and intellectually aware citizens capable of contributing meaningfully to society.
As one of Pakistan’s leading research universities, NUST remains actively engaged in shaping national academic discourse and contributing towards a higher education ecosystem.
