Rector NUST Calls for Equitable Digital Ecosystem at SCO Forum 2025

Rector NUST, Dr Muhammad Zahid Latif, delivered a keynote address at the 2025 SCO Digital Economy Forum hosted by Nankai University on July 11, 2025. The forum brought together higher education leaders, policy experts and digital innovators from across SCO member states.
In his address, Rector emphasized the potential of digital collaboration among SCO member states, especially within Central Asia. He spoke about the generational shift brought by Generation Alpha, whose digital upbringing calls for new learning paradigms and modular education systems.
Highlighting Pakistan’s youth bulge and its growing engagement in the gig economy, Rector stressed the need to equip youth with relevant digital skills.
He called for deeper institutional linkages and stronger collaborative frameworks under the SCO umbrella to help shape a more equitable, connected and future-ready digital ecosystem.
